We are designers and makers.

  • Our Founder

    Our Founder

Excelling at woodwork at school, Terry found his calling at a young age. Like all great beginnings, his professional journey began in the family garage where he made handmade furniture from reclaimed materials.

Since moving to the historic site of Weyhill Farm twenty years ago, Terry has continued to develop his eye for timeless beauty, designing and producing beautiful furniture and shepherd huts for local clients as well as partnering with national and international retail brands.

  • Our Team

Over the last 40 years, Terry Lynch Handmade has accumulated a strong reputation for quality craftsmanship.

A founder with impeccable standards, Terry’s obsession with product quality permeates throughout the team. He takes enormous pride in sharing his knowledge and helping develop outstanding artisan woodworkers, many of whom continue to work alongside Terry to this day.

Our team of highly creative, experienced joiners make every item by hand with enduring quality and sustainable sourcing at its core.

  • Sustainability

    Sustainability

We have deep knowledge of the materials we use and our supply chain which is why we only use sustainably-grown timber (FSC or GIB certified) or reclaimed wood and materials sourced from local suppliers to minimise our product’s carbon footprint.

Whilst sustained supply of the materials we use is vitally important to our business and the planet, we believe that our role to sustain supply goes beyond raw materials.

The timber we use comes from trees and trees are an integral part of an intricate natural ecosystem. It is this ecosystem that we need to protect and nurture.

Terry is passionate about wildlife conservation and, for this reason, we proudly support Flora and Fauna International, the world’s oldest international wildlife conservation charity, focused on conserving threatened species and ecosystems worldwide.

Background

With extensive experience of producing luxury indoor, outdoor furniture and shepherd huts, we sought to address the lack of choice available for landscape design.

Like many of the best designs, we looked to nature for inspiration and the horticultural system of using Latin names to reflect key characteristics of each product.

Nature inspired design.

We are surrounded by an abundance of organically curved shapes and ‘rhythms‘ in the natural world.

  • The outstretched branches of a tree,

  • The ridged hull of a seed,

  • The slender tendrils of a climbing plant,

  • The downward spiral of a falling leaf.

This is where we draw inspiration for our product design.
